The challenge

The operating problem behind the project

The project requires more than a product catalog. It must coordinate customers, independent vendors, and platform administration while splitting a purchase into vendor-specific sub-orders and connecting order states with inventory, deposits, full online payment, cash on delivery, shipping, collection, commissions, vendor entitlements, settlements, withdrawals, refunds, and disputes in a traceable financial workflow.

The solution

How we designed the system

The Drix is building a centralized marketplace consisting of Android and iOS customer applications, a web seller portal, a central administration panel, backend services, APIs, and a shared database. The platform supports vendor onboarding and verification, stores, products, inventory, multi-vendor carts, Master Orders and Sub-Orders, payment policies, shipping and collection, commissions, vendor entitlements, settlements, withdrawals, disputes, multilingual experiences, intelligent services.

Key outcomes

A clearer product for users and operations

  • Multi-vendor cart with a Master Order and independent vendor Sub-Orders
  • Multiple payment policies: deposits, full online payment, and cash on delivery
  • Operational finance for commissions, seller entitlements, settlements, withdrawals, and refunds
  • iOS and Android apps with seller and administration web portals
  • Payment, shipping, notifications, multilingual support.

Published implementation facts

Context
The project is a custom digital marketplace for selling local products through multiple vendors while preserving one coherent purchasing experience for customers. It supports ready-stock products and products requiring preparation or manufacturing and brings inventory, orders, payments, shipping, commissions, and seller entitlements into one operating platform.
Intended users
Customers purchasing through the mobile applications, vendors and stores joining the marketplace, platform administrators, operational and finance teams, and connected payment and shipping providers.
Constraints
The platform must preserve independent order, payment, shipping, and entitlement states for each vendor within one customer purchase while maintaining a controlled financial ledger and handling cancellation, refunds, refused delivery, and disputes. Some capabilities depend on the official APIs exposed by payment and shipping providers, while Apple and Google review timelines remain external dependencies.
The Drix contribution
The Drix is responsible for end-to-end analysis, planning, UX/UI design, customer applications, seller portal, administration panel, backend services, APIs, database design, roles and permissions, product and inventory management, multi-vendor orders, operational finance, payment and shipping integrations, testing, production preparation, release support, documentation, and training.
How we build projects

How the project was delivered

The project follows an Incremental & Parallel Delivery model across five main phases. It starts with comprehensive discovery and workflow, policy, and architecture definition. UX/UI and technical foundations then proceed in parallel, followed by commerce and financial workflows, integrations and multilingual intelligent services, and finally comprehensive QA, UAT, production preparation, release, and handover.

  1. 1

    Comprehensive discovery and planning

Define the operating model, customer, vendor and administration journeys, order, payment and shipping states, operational finance, permissions, architecture, database plan, and integration plan.

  2. 2

    UX/UI and technical foundation

Design customer applications, seller portal, and administration panel within one design system while establishing architecture, database, backend, APIs, authentication, and permissions.

  3. 3

    Commerce and financial workflows

Implement products, inventory, multi-vendor cart, Master and Sub-Orders, payment policies, deposits, COD, commissions, vendor entitlements, settlements, withdrawals, and disputes.

  4. 4

    Integrations, languages, and intelligent services

Connect the approved payment and shipping providers and complete languages, AI-assisted translation, chatbot, search, banners, and the lightweight project website within scope.

  5. 5

    Testing, launch, and handover

Complete mobile and web interfaces, run QA, integration testing and UAT, prepare production and releases, and deliver documentation, training, and final handover.
